The Fine Print, Kept Simple

Policies & Terms

No legalese, no traps. Here's exactly how we work together, what your monthly hosting looks after, and how we handle the money side of things.

What Your Monthly Hosting Covers

Your monthly plan isn't a hidden fee — it's what keeps your website live, fast, and looked after. Every month you're covered for:

  • Reliable hosting & uptime — your site runs on fast, monitored infrastructure so it stays online.
  • SSL & security — your padlock, encryption, and everyday protection are handled.
  • Domain management — we look after the technical DNS side of things.
  • Ongoing maintenance — behind-the-scenes updates so nothing breaks over time.
  • Small tweaks & content edits — swap a photo, update opening hours, change a phone number — small stuff is included.
  • Backups — automatic snapshots so nothing ever gets lost.
  • Priority support — you email, I actually reply.

How Payment Works

1. Free preview. You see a real, working version of your site before you spend a cent. No obligation.

2. Deposit. Once you love the preview and give us the green light to move forward, a deposit is paid so we can commit our time to finishing your build.

3. Final payment on launch. The remainder of the website cost is paid when your site goes live and you're happy.

4. Monthly hosting. Ongoing monthly plan starts from launch day and keeps your site running as covered above.

Deposits

Deposits are how we lock in our time for you. Once you approve the preview and we start the build phase, that deposit reserves the hours we're committing to your project.

If the final website balance isn't settled after launch — after reasonable follow-ups — Layerly reserves the right to retain the deposit as compensation for the work already completed. We'd always rather sort things out with a quick conversation first.

Keeping Your Site Live

Once your website is live, the monthly hosting plan keeps everything running — servers, security, updates, and small edits.

If a monthly payment falls behind, we'll always reach out first to make sure everything is okay. If the account remains unpaid after that, Layerly reserves the right to temporarily pause the site until the balance is settled. As soon as it's sorted, we'll have you back online the same day — nothing is deleted, backups are always safe.

Revisions & Changes

Revisions during the build phase are part of the process — we go back and forth until it's right, without a "revision counter" hanging over you.

After launch, small ongoing tweaks (copy edits, image swaps, small layout adjustments) are covered by your monthly plan. Larger changes — a brand-new section, an added page, or a redesign — are quoted separately at a friendly rate before any work starts.

Ownership & Content

The finished website and its content are yours. You own your brand, your copy, and your photos.

Any images, text, or media you supply must be yours to use — please make sure you have the rights to anything you send through. Layerly retains the right to feature the completed website in our portfolio and case studies unless you'd prefer otherwise.

Your Site, Your Property

The website we build is yours — the design, the content, the domain. That doesn't change.

The monthly hosting plan is what keeps that website live on the internet. Think of it the same way you'd think about electricity to a shopfront: the shop belongs to you, but the lights only stay on while the power is paid.

If a monthly payment isn't kept up to date, the site is simply taken offline until it's brought current — then it's back up, usually the same day. Nothing is deleted and the website remains yours the whole time; hosting is just what keeps it visible to the world.

Questions?

These policies exist to keep things fair on both sides — not to catch anyone out. If anything above is unclear or you'd like something spelled out in writing before we start, just ask.
