Question 1

How much does a website cost?

Accepted Answer

It depends on what you need, but here's how it works. If you go with the free preview, it costs you nothing upfront. We build something for you, and if you love it, we discuss pricing and start tailoring it exactly to your liking. If it's not for you, no stress at all. You don't pay a cent unless you want to move forward.

Question 2

Is there a monthly fee?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Once your site is live, there's a small monthly fee that covers hosting, security, updates, and any edits you need. We handle everything for you so you don't have to worry about the technical side. Most web agencies charge $150 to $200 a month for this. We just charge what it actually costs us to keep your site up and running.

Question 3

Can I pay in instalments?

Accepted Answer

For larger projects, we're happy to split the cost into manageable payments. We'll work out a schedule that suits your cash flow. No interest, no finance companies.

Question 4

What's included in the monthly fee?

Accepted Answer

Everything you need to keep your site running smoothly. Hosting, security monitoring, performance updates, and any edits or content changes you want made. Just send us what you need and we'll sort it out. It's like having a web team on call without the agency price tag.

Question 5

How does the LAYERLY Guarantee work?

Accepted Answer

If you've received a written quote from another designer or agency for the same scope of work, send it to us and we'll beat it by 10%. We're confident in our pricing because we keep our costs low and pass that on to you.

Question 6

Do you charge for the free preview?

Accepted Answer

No. The free preview is genuinely free. We design something for your business, and if you love it, we talk next steps. If not, no worries. You keep the preview and we part ways. Zero pressure.

Question 7

Are there any lock-in contracts?

Accepted Answer

No lock-ins, ever. You can cancel your monthly plan whenever you want with 30 days notice. If you decide to move to another provider, we'll hand over your files and help with the transition. Your business, your website, your call.

Question 8

How long does it take to build a website?

Accepted Answer

Most websites are completed within 5 to 10 business days. Simple landing pages can be done in 2 to 3 days. We move fast because we know you've got a business to run.

Question 9

What do you need from me to get started?

Accepted Answer

Your logo if you have one, any photos you'd like to use, and a rough idea of what you want. Don't stress if you don't have everything sorted. We can help fill in the gaps and write copy for you.

Question 10

How does the free preview work?

Accepted Answer

You tell us a bit about your business, and we design a preview of what your site could look like. If you love it, we chat about pricing and start tailoring it to exactly what you want. If it's not right, no worries. No cost, no commitment.

Question 11

Do I get to see the website before it goes live?

Accepted Answer

Of course. You'll see everything on a staging link before it goes public. We work together on it until you're happy, and nothing launches without your say so.

Question 12

What happens after the website is live?

Accepted Answer

Your monthly fee kicks in and that covers everything. Hosting, security, performance, and any edits or updates you need. You don't have to touch a thing. Just send us what you want changed and we'll take care of it.

Question 13

Can you work with tight deadlines?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If you've got a launch date or event coming up, let us know and we'll prioritise your project. We've turned around full websites in under 48 hours when needed.

Question 14

How many revisions do I get?

Accepted Answer

As many as it takes to get it right. We don't have a magic number that suddenly costs extra. We'd rather you love your website than technically finish it faster.

Question 15

Will my website work on mobile?

Accepted Answer

Every website we build is mobile first. That means it's designed for phones and tablets first, then scaled up for desktop. Over 70% of web traffic is mobile now, so this is standard for every site we build.

Question 16

Do you handle hosting and domain setup?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it's all included as part of your monthly fee. We set up hosting, connect your domain, configure SSL certificates, and handle all the technical bits so you don't have to think about it.

Question 17

Will my website show up on Google?

Accepted Answer

We build every site with search engine optimisation best practices. Proper page titles, meta descriptions, image optimization, fast load times, and clean code. We also submit your sitemap to Google. For competitive keywords, we can discuss dedicated search engine optimisation work.

Question 18

Can I update the website myself?

Accepted Answer

You don't need to. That's what the monthly fee covers. Just send us whatever you want changed, whether it's text, photos, or new sections, and we'll make the edits for you. No waiting weeks for a simple change.

Question 19

What technologies do you use?

Accepted Answer

We use modern frameworks like React, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS. For simpler sites, we might use HTML/CSS or platforms like Webflow. Whatever makes the most sense for your project and budget.

Question 20

Is my website secure?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All our sites include SSL encryption, secure contact forms, and best practice security headers. Security monitoring is also covered under your monthly fee, so we're always keeping an eye on things.

Question 21

How fast will my site load?

Accepted Answer

We build with performance as a core priority. Compressed images, deferred scripts, and lightweight code. Most of our sites score above 90 on Google PageSpeed and load in under 2 seconds on 4G.

Question 22

Can I choose how my website looks?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. We work together on the design and you have full input throughout the process. We'll discuss your preferences, show you examples, and make sure it fits your brand. This is your website, not ours.

Question 23

What if I don't have a logo or brand guidelines?

Accepted Answer

No problem. We can work with what you have, help you choose fonts and colours that suit your business, or point you toward logo designers if you need one. Many of our clients start from scratch.

Question 24

Can you redesign my existing website?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A lot of our clients come to us after outgrowing their old site or having a bad experience elsewhere. We'll keep what works, fix what doesn't, and give it a modern, professional look.

Question 25

Do you design online stores?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We can build online stores with product listings, shopping carts, and payment processing. We typically use Shopify or WooCommerce depending on your needs and budget.

Question 26

Will my site look modern in five years?

Accepted Answer

That's the goal. We stay away from trend-heavy design patterns that date quickly. Clean typography, generous spacing, and considered animation age well. And with your monthly plan we can refresh things over time.

Question 27

What kind of support do you offer after launch?

Accepted Answer

Your monthly fee covers ongoing support. Hosting, security, performance, and any edits or content changes you need. Think of it as having a web team on retainer. Just send us what you need and we'll handle it.

Question 28

How quickly do you respond?

Accepted Answer

We typically respond within a few hours during business hours. We're real people, not a ticketing system. If something's urgent, we'll prioritise it.

Question 29

What if something breaks on my website?

Accepted Answer

We'll fix it. That's covered under your monthly fee. We monitor all our sites for issues, so in many cases we'll catch and fix things before you even notice.

Question 30

Can I switch web designers later if I want to?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You own your website. If you ever want to move to another provider, we'll hand over all the files and help with the transition. No lock in contracts, no hostage situations.

Question 31

What if I need changes to my website down the track?

Accepted Answer

Just let us know what you need. New pages, updated photos, text changes, whatever. Edits are included in your monthly fee. We're always happy to make changes to keep your site fresh and up to date.

Question 32

Do you help train me on Google Analytics or reviews?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If you want to learn how to read your traffic, respond to reviews, or set up a monthly reporting habit, we can walk you through it in a short call. No charge, part of taking care of you.

Question 33

Do I own my website?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You fully own your website, your domain, and your content. If you ever decide to move to another provider, we'll hand over all the files and help with the transition. No lock-in contracts, no digital hostage situations. That's the whole point.

Question 34

Do I need to provide my own content and photos?

Accepted Answer

No. If you already have text, logos and photos you love, great, we'll use them. If you don't, we help write your copy for you and can either shoot phone photos for you or point you toward affordable local photographers. Most of our clients come to us with almost nothing sorted, and we work it out together.

Question 35

Where are you based?

Accepted Answer

We're based in Western Australia. But we work with clients all over Australia. Everything is done online, so location doesn't matter. Phone calls, video chats, or just good old fashioned messaging.

Question 36

Do I actually get to talk to a real person?

Accepted Answer

Yes. When you work with Layerly, you talk directly to the person building your website. No account managers, no project coordinators, no getting passed around between departments.

Question 37

I've been burnt by a web designer before. How are you different?

Accepted Answer

We get it. A lot of people come to us after a bad experience. Here's what we do differently: transparent pricing from day one, fast turnaround times, a free preview so you can see what you're getting before committing, and no lock in contracts. If we're not the right fit, we'll tell you.

Question 38

Can you help with Google Business Profile and local search engine optimisation?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We can help set up or optimize your Google Business Profile, which is essential for showing up in local searches and Google Maps. This is one of the highest impact things a local business can do for visibility.

Question 39

Do you work with businesses outside Australia?

Accepted Answer

We primarily focus on Australian businesses, but we're open to international projects. Get in touch and we'll see if we're a good fit.

Question 40

Which industries do you work with the most?

Accepted Answer

Tradies, salons and hairdressers, cafes and restaurants, small retail, real estate agents, personal trainers, allied health. Basically any small business that relies on their phone ringing.
